Number of cases that have been transmitted or received from the school: 0

*Updated 11/23/2020 (includes both staff and student counts)

Will WSA be open in the Fall?

Yes, WSA will be open. Parents can choose between two different options:

  • Five days per week in-person attendance.

Class sizes will be slightly smaller than normal in this option and students will be moved as far apart as possible. This option provides the best education of the three options.

  • 100% online.

Students in this option will only attend school online. Currently, there are enough students participating in online instruction that will allow WSA to assign a teacher in most grades to work solely with online students. This means that there will be daily Zoom lessons, assignments, and individual check-ins. Parents of students participating in online instruction will be required to supervise and assist their children to ensure that they are participating and turning in daily assignments.

Will the school start and end times or calendar change?

  • School times are 8:30-3:00 Monday-Thursday, and 8:30-12:00 on Friday.
  • Breakfast will be served from 8:00-8:20 in classrooms.
  • After school programing is canceled until further notice.
  • The first day of school has been moved to August 26th for 1-8th graders and to August 31st for Kindergarteners.

What should I do if My Child is sick?

Keep them at home.

If they are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, they will need to see a doctor before returning to school.

Parents should also check their child's temperature before dropping them off at school. Children with fevers, won't be allowed into the building.

What safety precautions is the school taking?

Back to School night will be by appointment

Everyone in the building will be required to wear a face covering. All students will be supplied with two WSA cloth masks (students are also welcome to bring their own masks).

Temperature checks will be administered to any student demonstrating illness.

Breakfast and lunch will be served in classrooms to avoid large groups in the cafeteria.

High touch areas and classrooms will be sanitized regularly throughout the day and at night.

Hand sanitizer stations are located inside every classroom.

Anyone showing any of the Covid-19 symptoms will be sent home immediately.

Students will not share supplies.

Classrooms desks will be spread out to provide a maximum amount of spacing between each student.

Recesses will be scheduled so that students are not exposed to those outside of their grade level.

Students will be assigned a specific door to enter and exit the building depending on the grade level of the student.

A number system will be put into place for carpool. When parents pull up, they will display a family number and then the students will be dismissed from class to come to the curb for pick up.

There will be no assemblies or gatherings of any kind until further notice.

Lockers will not be used.
